Sharing my first three layouts using the Awesome Wilmas Winter Wishes kit from Scraps of Darkness

The first one, I call Winter Dreams,
its a little fox, he was sleeping in the snow, something has peaked his interest and he watches intently...
I used the papers from the kit, the flowers in the floral add on and the awesome cheesecloth in the add on.

Next is my FAV, I call it Heavens Tree....
The halo around the tree is obviously from the camera angle, but WOW
such a holy tree!
Papers from the kit, and the layered chipboard and chipboard snowflakes from the add-ons....
with Flowers from the addon.

Here is the last one for today, a little snowflake
stranded on a branch......lots of snowflakes from the kit, cheesecloth, and
flowers form the Floral add on....
then some "True Snow" from last years winter kit!

In honour of the season and my love of  Halloween
Id like to share a verse I wrote.

The hill
Autumn trees soft colours come, bring about a season hum
Gothic medley darkened moon, Halloween doth rise and swoon
burning bright by candle light, Ancestral cries all hallows night,
colour, texture, dark and still, by screeching owls the ravens mill
A lonesome witch both strong and brave will bind the bones into their grave.

August kit - Scraps of Darkness

Sharing the first layout I've done using the August kit from Scraps of Darkness, Kathy's Nature Walk.
I used a little Fawn photo , and using the flora add on, the Embellishment add on and kit papers, nestled him in  a little secluded glen, away from humans and harm. I had some of the moss left over from the SOD kit from the past.

Scraps of Darkness - July Kit

Hi Ladies
sharing my first 2 layouts using the awesome July Scraps of Darkness kit Traceys Artful Adventure!

Thanks for stopping by

Sunday, 5 July 2015

Here today to share a mixed media piece ive been working on in the background
for some weeks.
I was cleaning out the closet, and found a Carnivale mask, and a pair of steampunk goggles....

ok Ive got something brewing in the brain.......

I had an old Twiddley bitz frame, that was painted a hideous tangerine colour, that id
discarded, so I grabbed it and wrapped it in Tim Holtz tissue paper....
Then I used Lumiere Paints,
Halo Blue green gold
Antique Brass
and some black gesso....

Then I decorated the frame, using a Finnabair style technique
( i only did one corner, I didnt want to overdo it and take away from her face!)
I embellished the corner and added lace filigree pieces to the other corners.
Then I took the Carnivale mask, ripped off the feathers, and diamontes
and gave it a gold and green halo paint job!
Then I embellished her with gears, lace and the steampunk goggles...( that was tricky,
the goggles didnt fit her face...grrrrr)
I added some exotic golden lace from Februarys Scraps of Darkness kit and a few
Prima junkyard findings.......

So here she is, Metropolis, my Steampunk Goddess!
This photo above is straight on, she seems to look down upon her subjects,
The next photo, ive taken her photo standing looking up at her hanging on the wall,
its the best view by far!

Here are some close ups of the frame corner and the inside of her head.

I hope you enjoyed my steampunk frame....Thanks for stopping by....
