ART JOURNAL CHALLENGE

Welcome ladies to my challenge.....

This mid month challenge is to embrace the mixed media and art journal pages and our creative aspects of art! All Art Journal pages and Canvas projects can be posted here .

This month I want you to use old vintage pages from a book, doesnt matter how you use it, as long as its a vintage or old page from a book that is altered in some way....

I showed you what I did in my WCYDW post.....I used a stamp and a punch to alter my paper pages....

This page below is the left page above, with some additions.....I stamped a couple words
on paper and added the saying myself.....
My pages were cut roughly, not square and the stamps are from different sets for effect.......
you can also use magazine pictures from glossy mags....

This page was me just mucking around with my blog name!
I love this womans sassy outfit! meeeoooow!

So ladies I want to see those journal pages, you can make a tag to if you dont have a journal, or a page.....but get scrapping and show me what you can do!
Mish over and out!

You can enter as many projects as you'd like, otherwise our Standard Challenge Rules are in effect.

So lets go scrapping ladies!

WHAT CAN YOU DO WEDNESDAY

Hello Ladies

This week for WCYDW Im tying this in with the Art Journal challenge
that im running from today as well......
I thought I could give you a few hints and ideas for your journal pages!

Old books, I love them and finding ways to use them in my scrapbooking is fun!
I got all inspired by my CT buddy bex, remember her chocky box in February.....
Well Ive been dying to this since then....
so here we go:

you find a page from a vintage or old book, and you get your fav stamps out.'Now I had
a humungous sunflower stamp that I was given and I had no idea what to do with, it was too big!
So, I got a page ready in my journal using some TH distress paints and some watercolour pencils.

Then I grabbed my large stamp and archival ink and because I had no block big enough
I got the brilliant idea to use my C plate from my cuttlebug! ta da instant acrylic block!
and stamped my flower onto a page.

now for the fussycutting.....grrrrr I hate this part!
then I used matte medium to attache to my page.
so now, I wanted to add some more colour and paper for that messy grungy look!
Then I used a charcoal pencil to outline my flowers and papers.......
im happy so far......now.....for the saying.....hmmmmmm

So this is my finished result, Im happy with it, but you can go as messy, grungy, use stencils, and modeling paste and all sorts,
this was the opposite page......its as yet unfinished.

and this one is from another set of pages im working on......
youll see more of this one over in my Art Journal challenge

So Ladies, lets get those old vintage books and put them to good use,
this is a fun way to use some of your fav stamps that you havent used for a while
in a new and fun way......
Use a punch as I did for the flower designs, and dont for get that crazy trick,
if you dont have a acrylic block big enough and you have a cuttlebug, then use your plates!
(great for multiple stamping at once with more than one stamp)

Happy scrapping!
