I cant think Of a more wonderful way to show your love for your furry friends, than to blog hop!!!!!!

WCYDW - WITH BUBBACHOOKA AKA MISH FROM THE FLYING UNICORN

Hello ladies today id like to share with you how incredibly easy it is to create a mixed media canvas like my one called Monroe.

Things you will need with you before you begin

Canvas

Clear drying glue like PVA or Mod Podge

paint brushes

Lindys stamp gang flat fabio colour pack ( FUL store)

lots of trinkets and embellies ( FUL store )

Studio 490 Gold texture paint ( FUL store)

Gesso ( FUL store)

your imagination and a photo of choice if you want.

The first thing I did was gesso the canvas and attach my photo, in this case Marilyn Monroe....

Then I set about adhering all the embellies and placing them where I wanted, 

this is where your creative license comes in, be mad, be adventurous be extreme!!!!!!!

In the next shot you'll see my placement of my trinkets and chippies and bits and bobs.

there is even a piece of broken gate hinge from Hubbies garage, you can use anything!!!!!!! 

 TIP: ONCE YOU FINISH GLUING YOUR EMBELLIES ON DO YOUR SELF A FAVOUR AND GIVE YOUR PHOTO ( IF YOU USED ONE) A COAT OF PVA OR MOD PODGE.....YOULL SEE WHY!

 Then you get to play with gesso......yay....the fun grubby part, I love this part, makes me feel like Michealangelo....

As you can see I covered every square inch, make sure everything is covered...

THEN YOU GET TO GET REALLY REALLY GRUBBY! YEEHAH!

now  you colour your creation, I used the Greased Lightening pack from Lindys Stamp gang from the FUL store, I foundit the best, only because it was my FAV colours! You can use what you like and theres plenty to choose from in the Store.......Alda has Dylusions and they work well......

so you spray your colours and mist to your hearts content!

Now this is where I got kinda worried, Hmmmmm its to light, its not bright and shiny and not vibrant!!!!! What did I do wrong? nothing!!!!! dope me hadnt finished the last step! once you have left this to dry

you now get to PVA or Mod Podge EVERYTHING!!!!! TIP,use different brushes for different colours, as the glue will add moisture to the colours and they will run.

Now remember when I said cover your photo, that was because I gave poor old Marilyn a squirt fair in the Kisser of Rizzo red.....DOH!!!!!

But seeing that it was over the top of the PVA, it wipes right off!!!!!!! yay!!!!!!!!

So now once you cover it with the Glue again you get this:

My finished canvas.......ready to hang or display.

This technique can be used in many different ways, full canvas's or part canvas's, ATC's or even Tags.

I have used it a few times, with and without photos....

I used the same Lindys colours over and over again!!!!!

This time I used the Texture Metallic paint from Studio 490 from the FUL store.

I love the metallic feel to this.....

Also this time, I added the use of stencils, I picked a few of my faves

and stencilled them using modelling paste.........

Where you see the purple, I spritzed with Lindys Rizzo red and then Zucco denim

red and lue makes purple! woohoo

I tried to show the metallic texture paint as best I could but  in daylight you cant see it thru my camera. so here are some close ups

I hope I have inspired you all to take the plunge into Mixed Media, Its fun, different and you can make the most amazing creations.....

So get creative...

KIT OF THE MONTH - AUGUST

Its a warm summer breeze as the ocean waves crash along the shoreline and in the back of our mind we know summer is coming to an end, but today, yes today we can still be carefree and Play in the Sunshine.
And with a fun palette from Echo Park;s collection to Fancy Pants Memorabilia we hold on to these last days of the summer sun and entice you to forget that before too long a fall crisp breeze will fill the air.

Mixed Media Muse

We are so excited to showcase our July Mid-Month Muse Kit. This kit allows you to experiment with Watercolor paints, photo transfers, gelatos and so many more goodies that your creativity can explore. ATC & MIXED MEDIA FUN

G'day scrappers! Mish here, AKA Bubbachooka, Today I would love to share with you a couple of ATC's that I put together

after id finished a canvas and had a little bit of paint and sparkle left over. So rather than wash it away, I used it to knock up a couple of ATC's.....

The first 2 are steampunked up using the Lumiere halo green paint,

and some decorations you can find in the FUL store.....

This next ATC is a little bit different, I decided to make a 3D ATC

and I cut one of the ATC's into a coffin shape, and then

made a hinge and filled it up with a left over halloween decoration from last year.

I first inked the coffin shaped ATC, using pink and orange chalk inks, then I embossed the ATC shape

and used a black chalk ink to highlight the emboss....I used a spiderweb embossing folder.

the black ink gave it the desired highlight effect.

then i decorated it with a cut out from the steampunk spells paper available in the FUL store.

A little spider web ribbon, paper roses and an old left over prima vine, and Viola!!!!!

then I had to fill up my coffin......

I had a left over skeleton decoration, and some cheesecloth for the "mummy rags"

and Billy Bones is ready for action!

I added a bat just cause I had him left over! Looks like he flew in for a nibble

and is leaving! 

Another fun thing I made, purely for my scrap room door is a plaque for my friends and rellies to know what im up to!!!!! ( as if they didnt know)

its a canvas using inks and chipboard and some left over flowers and things.........

I have hung this on my scrap room door! so theres no doubt whos in there and what im up to!!!!!
